Title
Hunting/Post Horn
Subject
Description
Also known as the post horn, the hunting horn is an end-blown lip-reed aerophone of the natural type. This means that its sound is restricted to a single fundamental and the notes in the harmonic series above it. The hunting horn consists of around 4.5 feet of brass conical tubing which is coiled three times and ends in a moderately flaring bell shape. The coil is wrapped in a long and narrow strip of leather.
